ANECDOTES
Using a photocopier for more than five minutes produced confusion, disorientation, forgetfulness nervousness, causing a severe degree of stress. Work was unsatisfactory. After installing an Anti-Static Mat within easy access for hand contact, these effects did not occur. Contact with the mat also reduced the stress produced by the energy fields of the telephone. B.V. 1991 (NSW)
On discovering a sensitivity to EMR, I purchased an anti-static mat on recommendation and find it excellent in reducing the stress that develops from EMR in the home, at the sewing machine, telephone and while watching TV. R.W. 1994 (NSW)
The only changes I experience as a result of exposure to EMR, are when I use a cordless phone, my face becomes quite hot after about 15 minutes. This is enough to convince me that EMR can cause changes in the human system. Therefore I use any means possible to reduce the exposure to EMR from any source. D.K.V. 1995 (NSW)
The anti-static tablemat has proven to be beneficial as I live in a third floor unit and realise that I am affected by the EMR in the building. My first reaction on touching the mat was an immense release of physical tension. M.P 1996 (NSW)
I find that I can spend longer periods of time at the sewing machine since using an anti-static tablemat which convinces me that the tiredness and inefficiency I was experiencing, were as caused by the EMR generated by the sewing machine. D.L.1995 (Q)
An elderly lady living close to an electricity substation was experiencing trouble with static electricity causing her great stress. Installing and frequently touching the mat has greatly lessened the stress and had a dramatic effect on her wellbeing.
Use of an anti-static tablemat at a computer for three years, successfully eliminated dry eye irritation. Recently using a second computer resulted in unusual tiredness. This has ceased to occur since installing a mat at the new computer J.B. (NSW).
A woman who had moderate to severe chemical sensitivity (MCS) as well as electro-hypersensitivity, (EHS), found she repeatedly experienced increased severity of symptoms, (lethargy, memory impairment, depression,) after unavoidable exposure to either chemicals or EMR. One such incidence was after laser surgery to the eyes. Also, after a four week period of chemotherapy for non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, her sensitivity to chemicals and EMR became more pronounced. Other EHS people report incidence of increased sensitivity after less dramatic exposures.
The use of the anti-static tablemat has been useful in allowing people to identify the fact that their stress load was indeed caused by exposure to electrical energy of various frequencies. Dr William Rea of the Environmental Health Center, Dallas, Texas, says that each individual, will be subjected to the same stress, at cellular level, from EMR exposure. Those people, whose system can no longer adapt to EMR, will be consciously aware of symptoms, having already developed a clinical condition. Others, as yet unable to discern any effect from EMR exposure, are still able to adapt to the EMR stress and so are free of any symptom producing condition. However, in time, the cumulative effects of EMR will degrade this ability to adapt to EMR.
