Asthma and Childhood Diabetes linked to EMR exposure

A brief introduction to the link between yet another human illness and electromagnetic radiation exposure.

EMR exposure has been linked with a number of human diseases other than cancer, in this instance - the respiratory disease of asthma.

A connection between RFR / EMR exposure and respiratory malfunction, is clearly demonstrated by the breathing difficulties reported among the symptoms of people known to be hypersensitive to electromagnetic energy. These episodes occur at low levels of exposure, well below those levels recognised in the official setting of human exposure limits.

INCREASED INCIDENCE OF ASTHMA
The respiratory disease of asthma is now more prevalent than ever in Australia. In the Sydney metropolitan area there is a reported increase of 25% in incidence and 5% death rate among asthmatics.

A suburban newspaper reported the most frequent cases handled yearly in the Accident and Emergency department of one large Sydney hospital. Acute asthma and respiratory infection cases was placed first on the list for children, was placed second on the list for adults. An attempt to explain increased incidence of asthma has prompted a line of research that is looking at the role radiofrequency radiation (RFR)exposure may play in this disease.

In New Zealand also there is now concern regarding the increasing incidence of asthma.
A health study conducted by the community of Ouruhia, NZ, due to concerns associated with AM and FM radiofrequency transmission in the district, included a number of asthma cases. Most of the children in this same area are now on asthma medication.

There is now a great deal of speculation that the proliferation of radiofrequency broadcasting and use of mobile phone technology worldwide, may be contributing to
respiratory diseases, amongst others.

This possibility has influenced research in this area. Dr Peter French, B.Sc., M.Sc., Ph.D., Principal Scientific Officer of the Centre for Immunology at St Vincent's Hospital Sydney has been studying the effects of radiofreqency/microwave radiation on human cell function.

Dr French's work and that of Dr John Holt of the Microwave Therapy Centre, Perth Western Australia and Professor Olle Johansson of Sweden reveal that electromagnetic radiation through a range of frequencies affects the normal functioning of human cells.

Dr French has found that the production of histamine , which is involved in bronchial spasm, is nearly doubled after exposure to cellular phone frequencies.

Dr Ivan Beale of NZ, has found that the immune related disease, asthma was strongly associated with exposure to high voltage power lines, (while noting the limitations of the study.)

The effects of conventional anti-asthmatic drugs are inhibited by cellular phone frequencies.

Not all studies of RFR and biological effects have had an adverse outcome. Some yielded a positive result, some have shown no effect at all. The ambiguity of these and many other EMR RFR studies is often used by vested interests as a reason to dismiss the probability that EMR/RFR based technology may have adverse health implications for the exposed community.

There is a recent report from Sweden that an asthma drug can cause young children to become aggressive and to feel mentally disturbed. It is possible that EMR/RFR is having an unsuspected effect on the drug, enhancing or initiating these side effects.
It has already been established that EMR/RFR inhibits or enhances the effects of a number of drugs.

Increasing anecdotal reports from people who are experiencing a range of symptoms that are debilitating and threatening to their health status is reason enough to take the findings of the scientists seriously indeed. Unfortunately many valuable scientific studies do not become part of the accepted scientific literature and therefore are not taken into account when public limits of exposure are devised by the authorities.

The current limits of exposure to RFR do not include the levels that are below heat shock or burn. To include these levels would require drastic changes in the design and use of electrically operated technology. The health of the entire worldwide community may well depend on such changes

While the human system may well tolerate levels of RFR and EMR exposure for a given time, it appears to tolerate less well, the random, non-specific, unwarranted exposure to EMR/RFR for indefinite periods of time.

CHILDHOOD DIABETES
This disease is becoming more prevalent of late in the book "The Body Electric" (R.O.Becker & Seldon ) there is a reference to a study done by Soviet biophysicist N. A. Udintsev using a 200 gauss 50 Hz field on rats. Effects on adrenal glands are recorded also an insulin deficiency and rise in blood sugar.

The author goes on to say "In the mid 1970s, two Russian (research) groups found stress hormones (adrenaline) released in rats exposed to microwaves, even if they were
irradiated only briefly by minute amounts of energy. Other Eastern European work found the same reaction to 50 Hz electric fields. Several Russian and Polish groups have since established that after prolonged exposure the activation of the (rats') stress system changes to a depression of it... indicating exhaustion of the adrenal cortex." No specific reference is available for these studies.

A CLEAR DEMONSTRATION OF EMR/RFR HEALTH EFFECTS
The hidden talents of an electronic novelty.
The Plasma Ball is a high tech device, an electronic novelty used mainly at entertainment and exhibition venues. The Ball may also be used to graphically demonstrate, how the close proximity of a human body can attract an external electrical energy field and can hold and conduct that energy. It also demonstrates how the human system biologically interacts with an external electrical energy field - in certain circumstances - to the individual's extreme discomfort..

The ball consists of a glass sphere within which an electric field ionizes gases to form tendrils of artificially generated 'lightning', which reach out from a central coil and weave around the sphere. These lightning tendrils are free-flowing until a human finger touches the glass whereupon they immediately attach to a fingertip, through the glass, and move wherever the finger moves, seemingly attached by an invisible thread.

The Plasma Ball operates on DC current, converted from the 50Hz mains supply by a transformer. It also generates radiofrequency radiation. No magnetic field is present at the glass sphere. It is a fascinating device with a hidden 'kick'. As the following anecdote will demonstrate.

ANECDOTE
· A person with a mild dose of (pollen induced) allergic hayfever, became quite severely affected after having touched the Plasma Ball for no more than 1 minute. Eye and nasal discharge and sneezing became severe. The episode lasted until the person was 'grounded' by placing hands under running tap water and a homeopathic remedy was administered. The recovery period was approximately 15 minutes.
· Individuals who are known to be electrically hyper-sensitive have found the room stressful when the Plasma Ball is operating.
· A baby developed infantile eczema, which was allergy based and transmitted through breast milk. Action taken by the mother to correct this, resulted in a partial recovery only. The chromed metal stand of the baby's bassinet was found to have an induced electric current. Furthermore, his eczema was aggravated by sleeping in the mother's bed, where the innerspring mattress was also found to have an induced current. The eczema cleared up within 7 days of removing the bassinet from the stand.
At age 2 to 3 the child had a recurring food allergy based eczema behind one ear which resisted treatment. Once the child's innerspring mattress was 'grounded' the eczema cleared up and he can now eat the formerly offending foods. In each instance with this case the action taken to remove the offending allergen showed mild improvement. The removal of EMR stress accelerated the healing.

While these accounts are not 'controlled laboratory studies' they are real life events that have occurred to people exposed to levels of electromagnetic radiation (EMR) that we are told by authorities are harmless. Skin complaints can be a source of pain and misery to the sufferer as well as the carer, asthma however, can be a life threatening disease.

Asthma and eczema and other skin conditions are known to be related and both may well manifest in the same individual. While offending foods and other substances must be eliminated, the avoidance of EMR is highly recommended for optimum speed in recovery.
