Electromagnetic Field Radiation (EMF/ EMR) exposure linked with human diseases other than cancer.

MOTOR NEURONE DISEASE
A recent Danish study of a the motor neuron disease, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) also known as Lou Gehrig's Diseases, will strengthen this link. The same study also reveals evidence of a connection with epilepsy. Epidemiology (11,pp.539-543, 2000).

HEART DISEASE
The latest study of how magnetic field exposure can alter the electrical activity of the human heart heart-rate reveals that these 'could increase the risk of certain types of heart disease.' EMF Exposure May Lead to Dramatic Change in Heart Rate. MWN p8 Sept/Oct 2000

LUNG CANCER
Two British scientists, Dr Alan Preece and Dr Dennis Henshaw, have studied the incidence of cancer near high voltage power lines. A higher incidence of lung cancer has been found in the zones created by wind-driven, positively charged aerosols.
Their work is of immense importance as it adds to the established link between high voltage power line exposure and childhood leukemia. This adds, in turn, considerable weight to the following statement made by Dr Henshaw "There is a clear case for a moratorium on building houses near high voltage power lines ."

BREAST CANCER
A paper by Dr James Trosko, to be published in October 2001, Environmental Health Perspectives, shows that the effects of exposure to 40mG, 60 Hertz magnetic field can produce similar effects as those of a chemical tumour promotor.
